My TRUE sad bird story - HELP i need information!!?

I went to the chicago bird store for some toys for fav bird Paco (who is a cherry headed) ..and i was looking around at all the different birds... when i spotted this TEENY TINY naked lil thing. only had head feathers... at first i thought it was a newborn bird but then i came to my senses. someone severly NEGLECTED this poor animal..i asked the staff what was wrong with the poor lil bird and they said (exact words) "someone came in here with a paper bad, threw it on the counter and said *here, take it, i dont want it anymore*"..oh boy did i feel bad. so i asked how much they wanted, (nothing of course i mean who wants a naked bird? ..except me lol) shopped around for him, took him home..and now here we are, 2 months later
he is growing his tail and tips of his wing feathers back as we speak!
My question is, -- is there any order birds grow feathers in, or might he not grow the other feathers in?
please help, im really interested about whats happening to little "Peep" = )
Answers:
All of his feathers should grow back eventually, as long as he's not plucking himself. Birds under stress tend to do that, which is probably how he ended up naked in the first place. But you've obviously removed the stress, since he's starting to fill in. Give it time. It takes a while for a naked bird to recover.
I think it's wonderful that you rescued the little guy! Just give him time and lots of love. Birds can become extremely attached to their owners so he may still be in mourning. But once he starts to know that you are his owner, he'll do much better.
Gold star for you.
You are such a hero!! I am so glad that Peep is doing better! I can't answer your questions because I have no idea but I am so glad he is doing well! I also have a bird, she is a budgie named Blue :)
It sound slike either peep was stressed out or he/she was used for breeding. When birds are bred too much, they will pluck out not only their own but other birds in the cage's feathers. Its commednable that you took him. You are right, most people would not want a sad looking bird but you saw something beautiful in him.:) Best of luck to you, Paco, and Peep.
