why cant you buy pets other than fish %26 insects(as long as insects are advertised as food for other animals),you can buy a kio for 拢0.99p-拢1000's,but cant buy a budgie or hamster.

Because some people are inhumane to their pets. You can't get arrested for beating your fish or insects.. You beat your cat, dog, any other animal and you can get arrested. Some people just get pets for the completely wrong reason, why some just want to care for a pet and take care of it. More than likely that's why you can't sell other pets on eBay.

You can buy off ebay, buyer beware. they tell you what you think you are looking for and show you a different picture.
It's illegal to mail any live animals using standard couriers. Only live bait like crickets and maggots are allowed through the post.
Same goes for ebay's listing policy
From eBay: "eBay urges its sellers and buyers to comply with all governmental laws and regulations. Since the sale of live animals and wildlife products is in some cases prohibited, highly regulated, or may cause harm to eBay or its members, sellers are restricted in their listing of them on eBay."
Also, it has nothing to do with couriers. My mother is a postmaster and people ship baby chickens and hives full of bees all the time.

Because they are livestock which is against the law.and rightly so too.
